This unusual Lovers' Knots papale was made using 1/8 inch mauʻu/strips that were gathered and ulana (woven/plaited) in Honaunau, South Kona, Hawaii.  The head size/circumference is 22.25 inches. The "double nalu" (nalu = wave) refers to the blocking shape.  "Lovers' knots" is the pattern that creates the "puka" (hole) pattern and provides great ventilation.

3.75 inches tall, the brim is 3.25 inches wide with lovers' knots and 2 strand slight scalloping (more like roping) on the edge.  

An organic cotton lined felt sweatband is sewn in for comfort.
